On November 17, the 12th China Mushroom Days and the 9th World Conference for Mushroom Biology and Mushroom Products joint industry exhibition opened in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province. Professor Li Yu, Director of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Edible Mushroom Processing, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Mr. Chen Hui, Director of the Laboratory were invited to attend.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Chang Shuting, an internationally renowned mushroom scientist and honorary chairman of the International Society of Medicinal Fungi, Professor Li Yu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, chairman of the International Society of Medicinal Fungi and director of the Academic Committee of Key Laboratories, Christine Smith, Secretary-General of the International Society of Mushrooms, and more than 20 provinces and cities from China, as well as the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium delegates from more than 30 countries and regions, such as England, Japan and Thailand, gathered together to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, deepen industry docking and seek industrial development.

In his keynote speech, Professor Li Yu delivered a speech on how to achieve sustainable development of China's edible fungus industry. He expounded the changes in the role of Chinese mushroom industry. The edible fungus industry is a new starting point for precise poverty alleviation, a new engine for the development of big health industry, a new path for the reform of agricultural supply side, and a new direction for the implementation of the strategy of "one belt and one road".

As a guest speaker, Mr. Chen Hui gave a keynote report on the development and future of the International Conference on Medicinal Fungi. He told the guests and delegates about the development process, influence and future trend of the International Conference on Medicinal Fungi since 1970s. He extended a sincere invitation to all of you to attend the 10th International Congress of Medicinal Fungi hosted by the Key Laboratories.
