Deputy Director and Secretary of the Key Laboratory of Edible Mushroom Processing, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Participated in the Summary and Training Meeting of the Key Laboratory

From December 20to 21, 2018, a meeting of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratories ofAgricultural Products Processing Subjects Group of the Ministry of Agricultureand Rural Areas and a summary and training meeting of the work of the Key Laboratoriesin 2018, co-sponsored by the Comprehensive Key Laboratory of AgriculturalProducts Processing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas and theInstitute of Agricultural Products Processing of the Chinese Academy. Leadersof the competent departments of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences,members of the Academic Committee of the Agricultural Products ProcessingSubject Group and directors and secretaries of key laboratories participated inthe meeting.

The conferenceclearly defined the strategic orientation of key laboratories: "threeorientations, two first-class", inserting the wings of science andtechnology for agricultural development. The "three orientations" arefacing the world's agricultural science and technology frontier, the country'smajor needs, and the main battlefield of modern agricultural construction. The"two first-class" means speeding up the construction of world-classdisciplines and first-class scientific research institutes. Research fellow DaiXiaofeng, director of the subject group, said that key laboratories shouldclarify the development orientation, requirements and objectives, clarify thedivision of tasks, promote opening and sharing, give full play to the leadingrole of innovation, and promote the all-round development of the nationalagricultural product processing industry.

The conferenceorganizers invited researcher Wang Xiaomei, director of the National KeyLaboratory of Veterinary Biotechnology, and researcher Zhang Jie, deputydirector of the National Key Laboratory of Plant Disease and Pest Biology, toshare their experience in the operation and management of the National KeyLaboratory. Director Zhu Jie, Secretary of the Agricultural Products ProcessingComprehensive Key Laboratory, and so on also conducted training on theoperation and management of key laboratories. According to the Regulations forthe Management of Key Laboratories of the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralAreas, the daily management requirements of key laboratories were defined,including management principles, management rules, evaluation principles,implementation methods, periodic and irregular tasks, etc. Next year, theachievements of each laboratory will be assessed and graded according to thenew assessment indicators.

At the meeting,Zheng Huihua, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Edible Fungi Processingof the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas, conducted the annual workreport and academic report of the Key Laboratory in 2018, and exchanged theexperience of laboratory construction and operation management with otherlaboratory leaders. On the basis of fully affirming the work of the keylaboratories in 2018, the leaders of the competent departments and the directorof the academic committee of subject groups also put forward requirements andexpectations for the operation and construction of key laboratories next year.
